The Board of Health is responsible for making health policy for the Town of Montague while the Health Department is responsible for implementing the policies of the Board. The Board of Health focuses on activities that relate to the protection of public health, promotion of sanitary living conditions, control of disease and protection of the environment from damage and pollution.

Board of Health
The Montague Board of Health is run by three board members, elected to three-year terms by town residents during the annual town election. The board meetings are usually held the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 5:30 PM in the downstairs meeting room of the Town Hall.
